It is with great pleasure that I welcome the 2026 intake of students enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture, Master of Philosophy in Agriculture, Master of Science in Agroecology, Master of Agriculture, and Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Development programmes offered by the Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.

The Faculty of Agriculture continues to serve a diverse learning community beyond its undergraduate population through the dedication of its highly qualified academic staff. These postgraduate programmes are designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies of those engaged in the fields of agriculture and rural development, while fostering innovation, leadership, and research excellence.

I am particularly pleased that the Faculty has maintained high academic standards while ensuring that these programmes remain affordable and accessible. Developed in accordance with the guidelines of the Quality Assurance Council of the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, the programmes offer flexible learning pathways, including multiple entry and exit options and credit transfer opportunities.
